Description

Issue type

UX/Interaction bug (incorrect behaviour)

Bug description

Some modal dialogs don't open up when notes are selected. In my tiling window manager (XMonad) the window border appears for some milliseconds and disappears then.

Also MuseScore itself fails with the same behavior when started via a launcher. Starting it from Terminal (mscore --debug) works.

Steps to reproduce

Two examples:

  1. Select a note, right click on the note, Selection → More…
  2. Select some measures, click menu Tools → Transpose…

Research direction

Start by reproducing the Selection → More… and Tools → Transpose… cases on Linux with XMonad, comparing MuseScore launched from a launcher with mscore --debug in a terminal. Done means the affected modal dialogs open and remain visible in both launch modes.
