Description
Your idea
The ability to mute every hand-muteable instrument, at every moment, to stop the ringing of the instrument.
Problem to be solved
Not being able to mute instruments for a dramatic effect or to not have its ringing be a hindrence.
Prior art
No response
Additional context
I would like to for example be able to hand mute the sus. cymbal, after using it as a build up via tremolo.
Being able to choke the sus. cymbal a beat before a big splash, can create an amazing effect.
Being able to mute instruments at will is fairly versitile.

Research direction
Start by tracing the existing hand-mute behavior in playback and how hand-muteable instruments are represented. Confirm how the sus. cymbal and other applicable instruments currently ring, then define the playback behavior needed to mute them at any moment and verify it with representative notation.
