Description
Your idea
There should be a "free time" option under the "time signatures" pallette.
Free time, like in the 6 Gnossiennes by Erik Satie - I would like to write in it but the best option seems to be making the time signature 1000/1 and hiding it.
Problem to be solved
There is currently no obvious way to write in free time in Musescore that isn't a hack (e.g. hidden 1000/1 time signature)
Prior art
Dorico has it by default (according to my memory of Tantacrul's video)
Additional context
I'm rather surprised MuseScore doesn't already have this, so if it does, as mentioned above, it would be significantly more intuitive if it was in the "Time signatures" palette. It should also be added to the Handbook somewhere in Notation: Rhythm, metre, and measures.
