Feature Request Description

Hey there,

I’d love to see support for the HyperKey in Loop, similar to how Raycast handles it on macOS (see this video).

The idea is to allow mapping a key—like Caps Lock—to the Loop Activator, making window management smoother and freeing up other keys for important shortcuts. This way, users wouldn’t have to sacrifice commonly used key combinations just to trigger Loop commands.

A nice addition would be that Shift still works normally on a quick single press, but when used in combination with other keys, it could act as an activator for Loop commands (if available).

This would bring a few key benefits:
• Better window management – moving, resizing, and switching between windows would be much easier.
• Fix for the Globe key issue – The current default activator (Globe key) isn’t available on many external keyboards (see #275 and #463).
• Fewer shortcut conflicts – Many users (myself included) rely on combinations like Alt + Cmd as the activator since it works across MacBooks and external keyboards. However, this often conflicts with shortcuts in other apps.

Would love to see this considered! Thanks for all the great work on Loop.

Research direction

Start by locating the Loop Activator configuration and the existing Globe key handling in the Swift/macOS app. Review how modifier combinations and quick single-key presses are distinguished; done means Caps Lock or another chosen key can trigger Loop commands while preserving the requested normal single-press behavior.
