Description

Important Information

Provide following Information:

  • mpv version : mpv 0.33.0-204-ga1c6762156
  • Windows Version : 21H1 Build 19043.1052
  • Source of the mpv binary : Sourceforge
  • If known which version of mpv introduced the problem : No, It was always there
  • Possible screenshot or video of visual glitches : si senor, read along
Reproduction steps
  1. Load a few videos in playlist which are of different resolutions
  2. Snap the window to any corner (I'll be doing upper-right because why not)
  3. Play one video and then keep playing next to see how window leaves the corner as it gets resized (screenshots):

first video (I have snapped this manually to upper right corner):

the next video has larger width but smaller height and thus part of it moves outside the desktop and window is no longer snapped to the corner:

next video is smaller than the first one in both height and width and I cant believe you've done this:

Expected behavior

Consider this is first video I play and snap to upper left corner:

when i play next video, instead of resizing from the center and leaving the screen corner, there should be some way to set the resize anchor, so that window is resized from upper left corner and next video stays in that corner:

I think you get the idea by now:

Actual behavior

Just described this in Reproduction steps

Research direction

Start by reproducing the behavior on Windows with a playlist containing videos of different resolutions, after snapping the mpv window to a corner. Investigate the existing window-resizing behavior; done means providing a selectable or automatic resize anchor so playback keeps the window attached to the snapped corner.
