Description
Expected behavior of the wanted feature
a property that gets the bits per color of a video would be nice; video-params/average-bpp seems close but it doesn't directly report bpc/bit depth
Alternative behavior of the wanted feature

Research direction
Start by tracing the existing video-params/average-bpp property in mpv's source and inspect how its video parameters are exposed. Determine the appropriate property entry point and verify that the new property reports bits per color or video bit depth; the issue does not name a test file, so locate the relevant property tests before validating the result.
