Research direction
Start by reproducing the intermittent audio loss when seeking in a 4K MKV with mpv 0.35.1 on Gentoo Linux, using the linked output.txt log. Check whether repeated seeks restore playback and identify the relevant audio or seek behavior; done means seeking continues with audio reliably. A representative sample file is still needed because the report does not provide one.
