Description

The docs for the overlay driver are from 2015 and still view this driver as experimental. Also, they mostly show how to use it and don't give explanations on why it's the way it is.

There is a chapter in the docker docs about it, but also this mostly describes usage.

Research direction

Start with docs/overlay.md and compare it with the current overlay chapter at docs.docker.com/network/overlay/. Identify which historical statements are outdated and which concepts are missing, then update the documentation to describe the driver's current status, usage, and rationale. Done means the repository documentation is no longer framed as experimental and explains why the overlay driver works as described.
