Description
and reported that ZFS failed to find root file system.
Some googling suggests that userboot.so in the repo is too old. Could compile and release a new one?
Or How can I compile myself? userboot.txt says the compilation method, but which FreeBSD source code files or directories should I compile?
Thanks.

Research direction
Start with userboot.so and userboot.txt to understand the current build instructions and identify which FreeBSD source directories they reference. Reproduce the FreeBSD 13 installation and boot failure if possible, then determine whether an updated userboot.so or clearer build instructions are needed. Done means the root filesystem is found after installation or the required compilation path is documented.
