Description
I'm generating and following a link dynamically. When I manually click the link, the Shadowbox appears as expected. When I automatically click the link with JavaScript (document.getElementById("empLink").click();), the link is followed as usual without the Shadowbox.

Research direction
Reproduce the issue with a dynamically generated link and document.getElementById("empLink").click(), comparing it with a manual click. Trace how Shadowbox handles the link event and determine what prevents the automated click from opening Shadowbox. Done means both click methods produce the Shadowbox behavior instead of following the link directly.
