White Screen: Shadowbox QT Player and IE - FIXED

When viewing a QuickTime file-type in Shadowbox QT Player on Internet Explorer, the 2nd time the video is played will result in a white screen with the QT Controlbar in the middle of the player.

The condition will reset itself when IE Browser cache is cleared out.

An update to Shadowbox QT Player to purge IE browser cache would work, or to 'markup' the Shadowbox QT Player similar to that of the Shadowbox iframe player.

For those who want to play QuickTime file-types such as MP4, one can use Shadowbox FLV Player (Flash Video) by using simple rel attribute. Example: 'rel=shadowbox;player=flv' Note if using the dynamic download at shadowbox-js.com you will need to select the Flash Video option.

Alternately, one can use Shadowbox iframe player. Just add 16 Pixels to the height of the video for the QuickTime ontrolbar so that the QuickTime Internet Explorer plugin is displayed correctly.

The issue is marked “FIXED” and does not name a source file, test, or current reproduction path. Review the reported QuickTime and Internet Explorer behavior, then check whether the suggested cache-purge or iframe-player alternatives still apply. There is no clear completion criterion for new work.
