Description

Following past discussions, we decide to update our ontology to match the "apollo" way of doing the ontology, meaning we follow the same classes "organization" and same import technique. The update is going to contains multiple steps, each should be link to at least one PR. The issue here will be updated at each step.

  • Check the Ontology header, imports, prefixes (comparison with Apollo) - see PR #103
  • Reorganize current midas ontology, split the PR into small sections to simplify review and feedback:
    1. Biological Scale / Digital object type #104
    2. Topic - Behavior #105
    3. Topic - Control Strategy Census
    4. Topic - Disease & Pathogen, Vector, Host
    5. Topic - Environment information
    6. Topic - Modeling
    7. Topic - Population Count
    8. Topic - Demographic
    9. Topic - Research Topic
    10. All other Topics
    11. Geographical information
  • Release a new version
  • Add new classes for terms without associated IRI used in the data catalog
  • Release a new version

The first two steps should be made on branch merge into the ontology_update branch, it will be merge to main on release.
