Description

Hi,
Managed identities (MIs) should be fully supported. Otherwise we getting hundreds of app regs. This means maintenance, deployment, docs. If I use app regs then what is the point of Data Connect from dev perspective who is not so concerned about security? They will simply add adm permissions to read all emails and that is it.
(MIs) should be supported both ways - O365 and sinks. Not for just blob endpoint, but Data Lake as well. We are talking about emails and people are doing crazy things with mailboxes. So there could 10 emails per day and there could be 1K emails per day. We have account that produces 10K/per month - like everybody forwards invoices to shared mailbox and then guys are also making copies of copies. Ability to use sink that is designed to store large amounts of data in protected fashion is important.
So:

  • MI support everywhere - O365 and sinks.
  • Data lake support polished and documented.

Research direction

The issue names no files, tests, or entry points. Start by mapping the O365 and sink paths, including Data Lake, and determine the current authentication and documentation boundaries. Done means managed identities are supported for the requested O365 and sink scenarios and the Data Lake usage is documented.
