Brief description of your issue
Since 3-4 months ago I have a problem trying to upgrade mi free WinRAR 7.10.0 to 7.13.0 with WinGet.
My box is a Windows 11 computer with i7 processor and 32 GB of RAM.
I issue the simple command:
winget upgrade "WinRAR 7.10 (64-bit)"
or
winget upgrade "RARLab.WinRAR"
Any one of then seems to download the correct installer (7.13 spanish version as I am from Argentina), installs it (as the program's properties shows it is in versión 7.13.0) but winget does not recognize the new version signature so it keeps trying to upgrade to that 7.13.0 versión whenever I ask what's left to upgrade.
winget upgrade
returns:
Nombre Id Versión Disponible Origen
WinRAR 7.10 (64-bit) RARLab.WinRAR 7.10.0 7.13.0 winget
1 actualizaciones disponibles.
Could it be a problem with the language (spanish) that is the root cause of my problem?
I add that I have not the same issue with other applications I am used to upgrade with winget.
Thank you for your advice.
Regards.
Ariel from Argentina.
Steps to reproduce
I have installed WinRAR 7.10.0 spanish version.
I execute
winget upgrade "RARLab.WinRAR"
System says the upgrade went well.
But when I execute
winget upgrade
System says WinRAR needs to be updated again.
Expected behavior
I would like for winget to recognize it has upgraded WinRAR and remove WinRAR from the lacking upgrades list.
Actual behavior
After I send the upgrade command, when i ask for the applications lacking upgrade, WinRAR still is not recognized as upgraded even when the app's About dialog say so.

Research direction
Start by reproducing the reported winget upgrade "RARLab.WinRAR" and winget upgrade commands on the listed Windows 11 environment, then review the attached WinGet log. Compare the installed WinRAR version with the version shown by the upgrade listing; done means the completed upgrade is no longer offered.
