Description
Some installers require a configuration file to specify parameters necessary for silent installation.
The manifest could be extended to support the data needed in a config file and could be created at install time on the local machine, or a file could be provided in addition to the manifest with some kind of pointer.

Research direction
Start with the manifest format and linked issue #158; no source file or test is named in this report. Because the issue presents multiple possible mechanisms, confirm the intended design and installer scope before judging completion; done should include a clear, working way to supply the silent-install configuration.
