Description

Brief description of your issue

Running the winget install -e --id Tableau.Desktop fails at the download stage. Looks like there was a similar problem on previous versions.

Downloading https://downloads.tableau.com/esdalt/2024.3.0/TableauDesktop-64bit-2024-3-0.exe
An unexpected error occurred while executing the command:
Download request status is not success.
0x80190193 : Forbidden (403).

I can download the file directly from the link above.

Steps to reproduce

Run winget install -e --id Tableau.Desktop will fail when trying to download the executable.

Run winget download tableau.desktop will fail on the download.

Expected behavior

The other apps I use all download and install properly. This is the first time I've encountered a problem. Looks like previous versions of Tableau have the same problem - Tableau seems to be blocking downloads.

Actual behavior

The install begins but fails during download:

Research direction

Start by reproducing the failure with winget install -e --id Tableau.Desktop and winget download tableau.desktop, then inspect the Tableau Desktop package data associated with the reported download URL. Determine whether the 403 can be resolved within the package metadata or requires an upstream download change; done means the package downloads and installs successfully.
