WinGet CLI

Description of the new feature / enhancement

If I have a priority order on WinGet sources and a single best result is found in one of the top sources, but a lower source encounters a failure, install the matching best result.

Examples:
I have source "A" first and source "B" second.

  • If a single best match is found in source A, and source B fails, install the best match from source A.
  • If source A fails and a best match is found in source "B" prompt the user as implemented in the feature referenced below.

  • #6164

Research direction

Start with the WinGet CLI source-priority behavior described here and review the related issue #6164 and the discussion on pull request #6165. Confirm how a best match is selected when a lower-priority source fails, then verify that a single best result from a successful higher-priority source installs while the fallback case still prompts the user.
