Description

Description of the new feature / enhancement

Research direction

The issue names no files or tests; start by locating portable-package manifest handling and the registry integration. Define how file-type assignments and an optional icon should be represented for programs such as touchHLE and WineVDM. Done means the manifest supports these assignments and the resulting registry behavior is verified.
