VSCode Becoming Unbearably Slow

### Description

Over the past couple of months, VSCode has gotten slower and slower to startup and initialize. This persists through multiple machines and environments and in situations where the number of extensions is relatively small.
I believe most of this issue is due to all the new AI features, which are helpful but the slowness has gotten out of hand for what used to be a snappy, ultra-quick editor. Now it takes nearly as long to load as Visual Studio.
I have only Windows computers to test this on, but the same slowness is evident on all of them.
