cancelling sign in causes "failure" pop-up

1. sign in using "continue with msft"
2. see that it has the wrong account, so click cancel
🐛 get a "something went wrong" looking pop-up
clicking retry just sends me back into the same thing, so that isn't helpful, I just have to click cancel again
