Description

Type: Bug

Pressing backspace while writing in a chat in github copilot actually ends up sending a backspace to the currently open file in VS Code. so when you type it will type into gh copilot chat, but when you press a backspace it goes to the the file you had open and by the time you figure it out, you have erased some lines of code.

VS Code version: Code 1.135.0 (08d4889f9ec4a1685d257b9b95de036c8e1ce1e5, 2026-08-25T14:26:52Z)
OS version: Darwin arm64 25.5.0
