I frequently encounter a brief freezing of a new window for approximately 30–45 seconds.

Type: Performance Issue

When I open a new window with cmd+shift+n, new window freezes for more than 30 seconds, it doesn’t show Recent folders and other options when it get freezes. This has been occurring for over six months. I have attempted to clear the cache and keep Visual Studio Code up to date. Occasionally, if a new window does not freeze, clicking on the More.. option under the Recent section causes it to freeze. I am an experienced Visual Studio Code user and can observe the difference. This issue was not present previously and I am unable to determine the cause.
