VS Code crashes when showing/hiding or resizing GitHub Copilot chat window

* Frequently after a long chat session, if I hide the GitHub Copilot chat window, VS Code simply freezes and I have to restart. This can happen even if there is no ongoing chat.
* A similar thing happens when _resizing_ the chat window. Just now I resized the chat sidebar to as narrow as it would go while a chat was ongoing. VS Code froze (including the cursor, which was stuck with the horizontal "resize" pointer). Eventually I had to select "restart".

There are no steps to reproduce, because I never know when it's going to do this. I've seen it most often when I hide the chat sidebar.

This issue has been present for months over many, many releases.
