Description

Type: Bug

With all due regards to #261238, this is still happening. All I need to do is connect to the remote in a profile with just this one extension, and there's the pop-up.

I suspect that the remote is blocking the call to GitHub, but even though **I've disabled Settings Sync**, it still pops up.

VS Code version: Code 1.126.0 (7e7950df89d055b5a378379db9ee14290772148a, 2026-06-23T01:46:13Z)
