I encountered this problem while upgrading from Code v.1.123.0 to 1.126.0.
Specifically, it seems that the update program didn't properly rename new_Code.exe to Code.exe. After the update is complete, it will prompt 'Code.exe not found'.

I opened the installation directory of Code and found that both old_Code.exe and new_Code.exe were there.

When I renamed new_Code.exe to Code.exe and new_Code.VisualElementsManifest to Code.VisualElementsManifest, it successfully updated.
