Extensions Auto Update Delay not applied by GPO

bug gpo

I tried to configure the settings extensions.autoUpdate to on and extensions.autoUpdateDelay to 48 from a GPO for my organization. The extensions.autoUpdate is correctly configured and set to Managed by organization, but the extensions.autoUpdateDelay doesn't have the Managed by organization and is still set to the default value:

Does this issue occur when all extensions are disabled?: Yes

  • VS Code Version: 1.126.0
  • OS Version: Windows11 Enterprise 25H2

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Close VSCode on the managed computer
  2. Download the default policies from VSCode 1.126.0 zip, and install them
  3. Configure the ExtensionsAutoUpdate to Enabled + Auto update
  4. Configure the ExtensionsAutoUpdateDelay to Enabled + 48
  5. Run gpupdate.exe /force /target:computer on the managed computer
  6. Re-open VSCode on the managed computer
  7. Verify the extensions settings
