Steps to Reproduce:

  1. start a session in a folder that is not itself a git repo, but contains a bunch of them
  2. ask the agent to edit some file eg "add an intro to README.md"
  3. look in the files or changes tabs for README.md

expected: README.md shows up (along with all other files) in Files.
actual: the folder is expanded but has no contents. It is golden yellow with an exclamation point and hover shows the error:
Unable to resolve workspace folder (ENOPRO: No file system provider found for resource 'unknown:/')

Ideally, I would like to see the diff in the all changes/turn changes view, but those two are greyed out.

https://github.com/microsoft/vscode/pull/318952 could be related, so this may already be fixed.
