Research direction
Reproduce permanent file deletion in a VS Code WSL session and compare it with normal VS Code behavior, focusing on the confirmation popup and trash handling described in the issue. Done means the chosen behavior is implemented for WSL: either deletion can proceed without confirmation or the file is moved to trash, with the behavior verified manually.
