Description

Some projects (like Android) use an interactive command menu for configuration where you presented with a list of numbered configurations and you can select one.

It will be most useful to allow the preConfigureScript to accept user input, and save the need to create a specific preconfigure script for each option.

Research direction

Start by tracing how the preConfigureScript setting is launched and how its process input is handled. Check whether stdin can be forwarded to that process, then verify that an interactive command can receive selections without requiring separate scripts for each option; the issue names no files or tests.
