Description

Below code raises "at-rule or selector expected scss(css-ruleorselectorexpected)" error.

This was observed not only in the stable build I was using but also in the latest insiders build (1.97.0-insider clean installation) that I installed separately for verification.

Is this the intended behavior?

Example Code

styles.scss

$base: 16px;

.container {
  @custom {
    --a-variable: #{90 * $base};
  }
}
// ^- at-rule or selector expectedscss(css-ruleorselectorexpected)

.vscode/settings.json

{
  "css.customData": [
    ".vscode/custom.css-data.json"
  ]
}

.vscode/custom.css-data.json

{
  "version": 1.1,
  "atDirectives": [
    {
      "name": "@custom"
    }
  ]
}

Research direction

Reproduce the diagnostic with styles.scss, .vscode/settings.json, and .vscode/custom.css-data.json, focusing on the nested @custom at-rule and its interpolated value. Trace how custom at-rules are handled in SCSS validation and add regression coverage; done means the example no longer reports a false “at-rule or selector expected” error.
