Description
Type: Feature Request
VS2022 Preview 2 is out and it supports Hot Code Reloading for C++ apps (source) based on Edit and Continue. It would be really helpful to have this feature on VSCode as well.

Research direction
Start by reading the linked Visual Studio 2022 Preview 2 release notes about Hot Code Reloading and compare that capability with the VS Code C/C++ extension. The work would be complete when Edit and Continue is supported for debug-build C++ apps in VS Code, but the issue does not identify files, tests, or an implementation entry point.
