Research direction

Reproduce the failure by selecting Azure Cloud Shell (Bash) from the VS Code Terminal view after signing in, using Linux, macOS with M1, or Codespaces. Compare the successful Windows behavior and inspect the extension's Cloud Shell connection flow; done means the shell connects successfully on the affected platforms.
