Description
Right now, our dependencies are locked to specific versions of libraries, which may complicate things for certain use cases.
Currently in our setup.py we have everything read in from the requirements.txt file with the install_requires=requirements, command. We need to unpin the versions of the packages, and maybe consolidate everything.

Research direction
Start by comparing setup.py with requirements.txt, focusing on how requirements are passed through install_requires. Determine the intended unpinned dependency format and whether the two files should be consolidated. Done means the dependency declarations no longer lock packages to specific versions and the project’s installation configuration remains consistent.
