Research direction

Reproduce the issue in Windows Terminal 1.23.12811.0 on Windows 10.0.26200.0 by opening Settings > Appearance, selecting Use Windows theme, and saving in both Windows light and dark modes. Done means the Settings text remains readable in either mode; the issue does not name a file or test to begin with.
