Research direction

Start by reproducing the reported behavior in Windows Terminal 1.20.10303.0 on Windows 10. Use the linked video and the rapid-click or double-click timing described in the issue, then investigate the window-focus path; done means the flicker is reproducibly understood and no longer occurs during those interactions.
