Description

From @be5invis on May 12, 2017 5:35

THEY ARE UGLY, REALLY.

The new font(s) should be:

  • Exact half-width monospace, to prevent full-width glyphs being stretched or alignment being broken.
  • No bitmap. In vector.
  • Well hinted.
  • Follows regional (CCJK) orthographic standards and aesthetic habits.

Research direction

No file, test, or entry point is named. Start by reviewing the existing use of SimSun, MingLiu, MSGothic, and GulimChe against the stated requirements, then identify suitable replacement font(s). Done means the replacement uses exact half-width monospace vector glyphs, is well hinted, and respects regional CCJK standards.
