Description

For on-premise deployments it would be wonderful to use Hadoop with CephFS instead of HDFS, which is supported solution by Ceph and Hadoop.

It would be a much resource friendly than binding RADOS Block Devices as presistent volumes.

This solution is also recommended by the Installing Hadoop over Ceph, Using High Performance Networking white paper by Mellanox.
