Research direction

Start by locating the pub fn new(key: &[u8], cipher: BlockCipherType) entry point and all uses of BlockCipherType in the repository. Review how the API represents supported ciphers, then determine the naming changes needed to reflect AES-GCM support; done means the terminology is consistent and the existing API behavior remains covered.
