Description
It would be useful if blocks could be disabled or deactivated in the block editor.
They would not be deleted, they would just appear differently. It would be similar to commenting lines of code in source code.

Research direction
Start by reviewing the block editor and how blocks are currently represented and rendered. Define how a disabled block remains present, how its different appearance communicates its state, and how it can be reactivated; done means blocks can be deactivated without deletion and their state is visible in the editor.
