Description

Disclaimer - we haven't done any user feedback on this idea, and not sure how much of a real issue this is.

But as I'm going through to demo/document how to use this tool, I'm feeling more like the split screen as a first experience adds a lot of unnecessary cognitive load for users. If I'm new to this experience, having 2 different screens splits my attention - I'm not sure what to do first. It's not linear. Also, frankly, it looks a bit ugly with a big grey blank spot.

Could we have the Home Page be fullscreen, and then when they open or create a Checklist, then we go to split screen?

So, maybe something like this...

Research direction

Start by locating the Code Eval tool's home page and the current split-screen layout, then compare the existing experience with the screenshots in the issue. Done means the home page is fullscreen and opening or creating a Checklist switches to split screen.
