Description
I just read about the new "play song" music editor for MakeCode Arcade https://makecode.com/blog/arcade/update-jan-2023#play-song
Are there any plans of getting this for the micro:bit too?
Is the micro:bit capable of playing these sounds?
Making more advanced tracks using just the "play tone" blocks or "play melody" can be hard so I think this has a lot of potential.

Research direction
The issue proposes bringing MakeCode Arcade's “play song” music editor to micro:bit and asks whether the hardware can play these sounds. No files, tests, or entry points are named; begin by comparing the linked Arcade feature with micro:bit audio support. Done would require a defined implementation scope and confirmation of the supported sound capability.
