Research direction

Reproduce the skillmap flow through the gear menu's "Reset All" action while signed in, then refresh the page and compare local and cloud progress. Trace the reset, sign-in transfer, and page-load progress paths; done means signed-in progress remains empty after reset and refresh without re-transferring local state.

Description

cloud sync identity p2 skillmap

Repro steps:

  • navigate to beginner skillmap in stable channel
  • ensure no local progress (reset if necessary)
  • ensure no cloud progress (sign in and reset if necessary)
  • ensure signed out
  • start an activity, then return to the home screen
  • sign in
  • notice the activity is transferred to the cloud
  • while signed in, start another activity, then return to home screen
  • from the gear menu, choose "Reset All"
  • notice your skillmap is reset (as expected)
  • refresh the page
  • notice your skillmap is repopulated with the local progress

Expected: Your signed-in progress would remain empty, and not re-transfer local state to cloud.
