Description

While uploading new report using New-PowerBIReport command, I am getting error code 401 (Unauthorized).

  • Datasource settings are as follows.

  • Deployment of same report works fine if I use SSAS hosted onprem.

  • I am using a SP that has admin permission on the workspace and the admin API's are enabled

Research direction

Start with the New-PowerBIReport command and reproduce the 401 using the stated service principal, workspace permissions, admin API settings, and datasource configuration. Compare the failing cloud deployment with the working on-premises SSAS deployment; done means identifying the authentication failure and documenting or correcting the required configuration.
