Description

I'd like to be able to set a particular instance as IsAnchor setting to PoSH Set-OnPremisesDataGatewayCluster. We created a cluster from an existing gateway to support both our Logic Apps and PowerBI, but the original gateway install is not on a convenient server. However, even after uninstalling the gateway, although it was listed as unavailable, it continued to show "IsAnchor=true".

Is this supposed to be handled through an auto-election mechanism in the cluster? Or is there some other way to set the anchor gateway and truly remove an old instance without losing any data sources / configurations?

Research direction

Start by reviewing the Set-OnPremisesDataGatewayCluster command and how the PowerShell module handles gateway clusters. Determine whether anchor election or explicit anchor selection is supported, and define how an old instance can be removed without losing data sources or configuration.
