Description
@jstarks mentioned this in an offline conversation. He noticed that if you:
- Establish a connection,
- Drive IO
- Wait several minutes (without IO)
- Issue new IO
The IO fails.

Research direction
Start with the BlobDisk implementation and reproduce the reported sequence: establish a connection, perform I/O, wait several minutes without I/O, then issue new I/O. Trace the idle-to-active path to determine why the later operation fails; done means I/O succeeds reliably after the idle period without introducing new errors.
