Description

Over at https://github.com/rust-analyzer/rust-analyzer/issues/4691 there's some discussion (and a screenshot) about highlighting function exit points when the cursor is on the return type in a function signature or on an exit point. It would be nice to be able to extend DocumentHighlightKind to support this.

Research direction

Start by reading the linked rust-analyzer issue and the language server protocol definition of DocumentHighlightKind to understand the proposed function-exit highlighting and existing enum conventions. Done means the protocol change is specified consistently with that discussion and its compatibility implications are documented.
