Description

After upgrading to containerd 1.7.19, which includes hcsshim v0.11.7, we have resolved the process handle leak issue. However, another side effect has occurred.

The private memory usage of the containerd-shim-runhcs-v1 process continues to increase. I will provide more details as soon as they become available.

Let me know if this meets your requirements! 😊

Research direction

Start by reproducing the continuously increasing private memory of containerd-shim-runhcs-v1 with containerd 1.7.19 and hcsshim v0.11.7, then compare it with the prior version. The issue mentions no files or tests, so first identify the shim's relevant memory-management path. Done means the growth is explained and a verified fix or regression test is available.
