Description
Hi, we have a etcd cluster set up with a proxy layer which checks custom authentication info. For each request, we need send a JWT token in the header/metadata. I couldn't find a way to set the metadata in the request. Could anyone please provide some ideas? Thanks!

Research direction
Start by reviewing the client request API and how its gRPC transport handles request metadata. Determine where a caller could provide a JWT or other custom header, then verify that the metadata is sent with each request and document the supported usage.
