Description

I don't know if this behavior should be considered a bug or not.

Repro:

  • Press Alt+Shift+P
  • Check for indefinite freezing
  • Press Esc + \ to recover

Tested terminals:

  • GNOME Terminal (Ubuntu 24.04)
  • Windows Terminal

Research direction

Start by reproducing the Alt+Shift+P sequence in the reported GNOME Terminal and Windows Terminal environments, then trace the DCS start path mentioned in the title. Done means the key combination no longer causes an indefinite freeze, while the reported Esc + \ recovery behavior can still be checked.
