Description

Missing Steps in Documentation After Connector Deployment (https://microsoft.github.io/copilot-camp/pages/extend-m365-copilot/07-add-graphconnector/)

After Step 2, once the connector is deployed, the documentation states that it will appear in admin.microsoft.com.
However, in our experience there are two additional steps required before the items become visible in the custom connector. These steps are not currently documented.

Step 1 Enable Visibility for the Connector

After deployment, the connector appears in Settings → Search & Intelligence → Data Sources.
We had to explicitly enable visibility for the connector. Only after doing this did the items start appearing in the connector.

Step 2 Create Verticals

Next, we needed to configure verticals manually.

Path:
Settings → Search & Intelligence → Customizations → Add verticals

Only after creating the verticals did the items become fully visible and functional.

Recommendation

These two steps should be added to the documentation to ensure users can properly surface their connector items in Microsoft Search.
